About the All Stars
Albany All Stars Roller Derby (AASRD) is the Capital District’s original flat track roller derby league. AASRD is a skater-owned and run business. Established in 2006 by a small, dedicated group of six visionary members, the league has continued to grow rapidly. We now have over 50 skaters, as well as a growing number of invaluable volunteers, referees, and non-skating officials. From our humble beginnings playing in local parking lots to our current home at the Washington Ave. Armory, AASRD has remained dynamic and driven. In 2017, AASRD played the ultimate away game in a two-day tournament in Namur, Belgium.
In this same spirit of community within our league, we are happy and humbled to serve the greater community of the Capital District. In addition to participating in numerous local events and fundraisers, a portion of the proceeds from each bout is donated to charity.
Albany All Stars are a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) As members of the international governing and sanctioning body, WFTDA membership has opened us up to a whole new world of competition with teams from across the U.S. and the world!
Determined, strong, and agile, we play to win, but also never lose sight of having fun. As skillful as we are relentless, AASRD brings a unique brand of excitement and energy to each game that will keep you coming back for more! We can’t wait to see all of our returning fans as well as the new ones when we take the track!
