About the All Stars

Who are we?! AL-BA-NY!

Albany All Stars Roller Derby (AASRD) is New York’s Capital District’s original flat-track roller derby league. Established in 2006 by a dedicated group of just 6 visionary members playing in local parking lots, the All Stars is a fully skater-owned and run recreational sports team comprised of over 30 members. In our current home at the Washington Avenue Armory, we remain as driven and committed to the game as our humble roots.

As a NA Northeast Division member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, we’ve competed with roller derby teams across the nation and the world scoring our best victory at 532-69. We know our star-shaped mascot, Inter Stella (or Stella as they’re affectionally known), was proud of us that day.

Outside of our bouts and practices, you can look for us all over the Capital region walking in the Saint Patrick’s Day and Pride Parade, volunteering at food banks, or co-hosting the Santa Speedo Run for fundraising efforts to Albany Med’s Damien Center among other notable events. Serving our community is a part of who we are and portions of the proceeds from each of our bouts is donated to charity. From our ever-growing league of skaters to volunteers and referees to non-skating officials, we believe in our mantra that we’re #bettertogether.

Focused, powerful, and fierce, we play to win but always remember to enjoy the game with each other. Using skill and determination, AASRD delivers a unique energy in every match that kill keep you coming back for more. We’re excited to welcome both our returning fans and new ones as we hit the track!
